Prego cravings

So here are my current prego cravings 😬

So cereal is a number one item. Love Oreos O’s ❤️ Next up is cream of wheat with roasted black grapes and peanut butter. This recipe is from Bobby Flay’s fit and healthy book. Then we have a roasted duck with oranges, oatmeal with nuts, seeds, blueberrys, coconut oil, butter milk and maple syrup. It’s amazing. I also love dill pickle sandwiches, which are English muffin with mayo, cut dill pickle, and cherry tomatoes. So, so good. Then I found the cutest blueberry kombucha and of course I love crawfish. I ate three full bowls! Lol

Kinsley’s 6th Birthday

Kinsley wanted a Barbie birthday this year. So on December 20th that’s what we had. First we went to the children’s museum in Fargo and it was great. It snowed all day so it was awesome. We got the cake at this wonderful bakery and lunch spot in downtown Fargo called Nicole’s Fine Pastry. Grace got a sea salt Carmel tart, I got a mocha panna cotta and Kins got a lemon square. They both shared an amazing hot chocolate with a ton of whipped cream. Her cake was called Nicole’s ultimate birthday cake and had sprinkles all in it a a marcapone mousse for frosting. It was amazing!

Cafe Verona and Yogurtini in Independence MO

We went out to eat last weekend and it was an amazing Italian place in downtown independence. This place was so cute and the food was amazing. It was Cafe Verona. They have love ❤️ locks all over there entry way. It was really pretty. Some had couples names engraved on them. So for food I got prosciutto wrapped shrimp 🍤 with a tomato basil polenta and asparagus with a sauce! My hubby got a rotini pasta with a vodka sauce and mushrooms 🍄 My sis and bro in law got seafood pasta 🍝 Kids of corse got grilled cheese, fries and cheese sticks, lol. We also got calamari that was amazing.

Yogurtini was on the street before Cafe Verona and it was great for dessert. You pick any flavor frozen yogurt 🍦 and then pick from a million toppings 🍒

My favorite mushrooms are morels. Late next month and in April is usually morel hunting season. I usually only find a handful but 4 years ago I found 800. It was the mother load of mushrooms. I cleaned them all in my bathtub because we had so many. Then I gave about 200 away and then froze a bunch And dehydrated a bunch.  But I couldn’t wait  till next month so I ordered some from They have some amazing deals sometimes like buy one get one. They are also on Facebook.  And they are so amazing! I just rehydrated them for about an hour cut in half, then floured them and fried in butter. Another way is to dip in egg then dip in crushed ritz crackers and fry in butter. So good 😊

Then of course a big pot of clams, shrimp, king crab and sausage goes great with morels! 😬👍

A sweet tea place in KS, the Oklahoma state fair and Aquarium!

Here is a sweet little gem we found in coffeyville KS. It’s called Garden Thyme tea room and they have the yummiest lunch!  It’s in a old house and all the rooms are themed and cute!  The first time we went the girls got grilled cheese and tomato soup. I got the seasonal grilled cheese with wild rice soup. Both came with veggie chips and a pickle. This grilled cheese was amazing. It had cheddar, sliced apples and apple butter in it!  My youngest daughter actually ate all my wild rice soup so I took her yummy creamy tomato soup. Lol. The second time we went was for Gracie’s 9th birthday and we did the High Tea. They served us a yummy gingerbread tea in real tea cups and saucers and then we got a huge tower of yummy little sandwiches and desserts. It was a great place to go!We also we to the Oklahoma state fair. It was huge with every ride and food you can think of. We loved the nursery building where you went it and saw baby animals being born all day! It was amazing. Kinsley almost ordered her cheese pizza with scorpions on it because we thought it was a joke but nope. They really put those and crickets and worms on pizza! We played some games, won some toys and check out the exhibits. But didn’t ride any rides.

We also did the aquarium for Gracie’s birthday. It was a lot of fun with the touch tanks!
