Two Homemade Cookie Mixes

Here is a post I did last year about some great Christmas gifts.

My daughter also loved to help make these for the younger group in our family.  It’s a m&m cookie mix and a Butterfinger cookie mix.  These are super easy to put together just like the soup mix from yesterdays post.  These recipes come from www.craftbits.com

Here is the m&m recipe for a 1 qt jar

1 1/4 cups sugar         1 1/4 cups m&ms           2 cups flour mixed with 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp baking powder

Layer in Jar in order given.  Pack down firmly.  Put tag on that includes:

1. Empty jar mix into a large mixing bowl

2. Add 1 stick butter softened at room temp, 1 egg, and 1 tsp vanilla

3. Mix until blended

4. Shape into balls and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet 2 in apart. (Do not use wax paper)

5. Bake at 375′ for 12-14 min. until edges are slightly browned.  Cool on cookie sheet for 5 min. Makes 2 1/2 doz

Butterfinger mix for a 1 qt jar

1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 brown sugar packed,  1 tsp powdered vanilla, 1 tsp baking soda, 2 cups flour and 1 cup chopped butterfingers.  Layer in the order given.  Add this tag: Cream 1 cup butter and 1 egg together in mixing bowl, then stir in mix.  When it is well combined place onto a greased cookie sheet in 2 in drops.  Bake at 350′ for 10-12 min.

Here is some of the jars wrapped
