I just watched the canned food alliance video at www.youtube.com/user/cannedfoodalliance#p/u/0/mnzr0jajfba and it was great. I can’t believe that canned food started in 1809, and most canned fruits and veggies are fat-free! There peek freshness is when canned and canned tomatoes contain more lycopene than fresh. And all the canned metal can be recycled over and over. Thats amazing. Here is a great recipe that everyone should try.
1 can diced tomatoes with green chile, 1 can chicken gumbo soup (cambells), 1 can whole kernel corn, 1 can chicken stock, 1 cup rice, 1 cup water and 1 long sausage
Cut sausage into pieces and fry in pan. Put all canned items in pot with rice, sausage and water and bring to a boil. Then cover and simmer until ready to serve.
